Day 2: Skilling

Henry spent most of Day 2 fishing at the hatchery. He catches a Red Herring, a Tuna and several anchovies earning him $91 for the day (he sold it to the market after work). He also caught a guitar that someone threw in the water. You would think that the guitar would be worthless, but Henry managed to sell it for $600.

Olive took a class at the science center in gardening.

And read a book she had on her shelf. She also planted tomatoes, grapes, and lettuce.

When they went to bed that night, Olive was in too bad a mood and rejected all of Henry’s romantic inclinations. It’s apparent that she is not yet preggers, but they will not be trying tonight.

Day 1: Welcome Wagon

While Olive was outside inspecting the area she wished to put her new garden, the welcome wagon stopped by.

The wagon was not very memorable, so I can’t tell you anything about them or their names. However, since they had company Olive made her first real meal in her new kitchen. A fresh Autumn Salad…it seemed to go over well.

Henry took some fishing classes at the local grocery store and then went fishing down at the Riverview Fish Hatchery. He caught several anchovies and a catfish. He kept the fish for future dinners.

Olive and Henry decided they didn’t want to wait for their first child, and Olive was already sprouting child-rearing wishes…so before bed they made their first attempt at trying for a baby.

Meet Henry & Olive.

Henry loves the outdoors. More than anything, he doesn’t want a desk job that will keep him cooped up inside day after day. Henry needs to be outside enjoying the fresh air and getting his hands dirty.

But, Henry likes financial security. He wants to have enough cash in the bank, so that he doesn’t have to worry about life’s little financial bumps and hurdles.

Henry has chosen the life of a fisherman. Is there enough fish, and enough of a market, in this small town to let Henry fulfill his dreams?

Olive recently married Henry, and they moved into this small one bedroom home. Like Henry, Olive doesn’t want to work inside. She has a budding passion for gardens and she’d like to nurture that and see where it goes.

Unlike Henry, Olive has no monetary goals. Sure, she would like enough to be able to provide well for her family (who wouldn’t) but what is more important to her is having a large and happy family.

There new house isn’t much to look at. It came with all the furniture so they decided to keep it. Why waste? Hopefully, it will feel like home soon.

The kitchen may be the first room in line to be remodeled. Yuck. Fortunately, this house has a decent sized backyard, plenty of room for a beginner’s garden and some outdoor amenities.

I’m not near a computer, so I haven’t been able to actually create my Sims, but here is what I have so far:

Sim A:

Skill focuses: Handiness, Fishing
Traits: Angler, Handy, Loves the Outdoors, Hot-Headed, ????? (whatever trait needed to spawn the “Swimming in Cash” LTW….Any suggestions?)
Father

Sim B:

Skill focuses: Gardening; Cooking
Traits: Green Thumb, Family-oriented, Natural Cook, Loves the Outdoors, Over-emotional
Mother

Okay, so there is some gender-steteotyping there…but whatever, I’m a bit traditional. :p
